Parallel structures

These exercises focus on the use of parallel structures in complex sentences. Your job is to detect the problem in each of the following sentences and rewrite the relevant part of the sentence. You will see two versions of the same text. The version in the second box is the version that you can edit.

First read the text. If it is not immediately clear what the problem is, click on  Hint 1 ; the problematic part of the text will be indicated in red. You can also click on  Hint 2  for an additional clue.

Rewrite the text in the box under "Write your answer here" and then click on [Feedback] to check if you have rewritten the text appropriately.

N.B. The feedback box usually contains both an explanation and a model sentence. For the latter, you will often have to scroll down in the box.

To go from one item to the next, click on the right arrow  at the bottom right of the exercise window. You may also use the PageDown (PgDn) key for this.
